Four pilgrims and One bottle of wine

This is the way.

Edinburgh to Santiago de Compostela

On two wheels,

With a kind push from my heels.

No more rent, only food to pay.

Cursing the hills
And screaming down the thrills.

On the way to Paris

Fulling up in le tir bouchon, a lovely place in Noyon.
What a great barman! A place to learn all about Pastis…and probably forget about it in the morning.

In Paris

100 kilometers a day, now, the reward…

On the road again with a new pilgrim… Leaving good old Paris and heading to Montage, near Bordeaux.

Our house, in the middle of the field.
Two days on a very comfortable bed and now, rocky ground, hungry slugs, noises from the bushes…and the high speed train tracks.

A stop in Pamproux

… where we met a storm and Gégé, a good camarade.

A couple of stops on the way to grab some tasty apple, juicy grapes and soft peaches.

It’s great when the sun is shinning, but that also means MOSQUITOs !

After a week of non stop cycling we have finally reached Montage.
Enjoyed a cooked meal and a glass of St Emilion in a cosy house.
Wine, wine, wine….lots of wine.

From St Emilion, to Saint Jean Pieds de Port… there the Camino starts.
Never ask for advice from a walker if you are cycling.

Finally in Spain

The country with many wines, great tapas, colourful walls,

No donkey on the track, no train either.

But a skinny horse on corroded tracks in the Astorga slums…
DCIM100GOPRO

…showing off muscles we never had before!

First rainy days after five weeks of sun!

Pre celebration in Ponferra…any excuse to enjoy a good glass of wine and Pulpo al ajillo

Over the last hills before reaching Santiago de Compostela… lungs are shrinking as we go up.

DESTINATION REACHED…SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

After hills, aches
Dirty hands, broken brakes
We made it in one piece.

Working with the Ensamble Transatlantico de Folk Chileno now!
